Ambassadors’ Dinner and Auction 2021
19 October 2021
Church House, Dean’s Yard, Westminster, London SW1P 3NZ
While it is still uncertain quite what the future of large events might look like, we are pleased to announce that our annual Ambassadors’ Dinner and Auction has been rescheduled for Tuesday 19 October 2021. Please save the date!
With a little longer to plan, and the power of technology now the new norm, we aim to make it our most successful and memorable Black Tie Gala dinner ever!
As well as raising vital funds for the Charity, the evening is also about relationships and community, bringing together our Ambassadors, Fleet Air Arm Alumni, and friends in the wider global aviation industry.
“The evening will be a celebration of the history of naval aviation, from the Swordfish to the F-35” said Sue Eagles. “It is also an important opportunity to raise awareness of our work preserving the remarkable heritage of naval flying – a heritage our country can be proud of, borne of pioneering ingenuity, extreme courage, skilled airmanship and tenacious endeavour.”
Guests are invited to arrive at 18.30 for a sparkling champagne reception in the gracious ante-rooms with beautiful views of Westminster Abbey, followed by dinner in the striking setting of the magnificent Assembly Hall.
After dinner our exciting Charity Auction, hosted by a professional auctioneer, is always a highlight of the evening with Lots including many exclusive experiences and unique items of naval aviation history and provenance attracting fierce and fun bidding. The auction will be online ahead of the dinner enabling you to get your bids in early!
And to really get you ‘In the Mood’, the evening is topped off with dancing to an incredible live band of world leading jazz musicians, reminiscent of the big band sounds of Ronnie Scott’s and Glenn Miller, the great jazzmen who inspired the WW2 generation. Under the musical direction of virtuoso clarinettist and saxophonist, Pete Long, this truly phenomenal 17 piece band played at our Ambassadors’ Dinner at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel in 2019 and we are delighted to have booked them again!
