A Flight in a Tiger Moth
A flight in a wartime de Havilland Tiger Moth biplane with former Royal Navy Air Engineer Jim Norris.
Jim served on Sea Harrier and Lynx Squadrons, and if you are as passionate about engineering as you are about old aeroplanes, Jim’s experience and wealth of knowledge will enthral you!
Flying from Henstridge Airfield in Dorset, your 60 minute flight with Jim will be a joy from start to finish. Henstridge was a WW2 Fleet Air Arm training airfield, called HMS Dipper and was used by Seafires for deck landing practice.
The runway is 750 metres long, the same length as a carrier deck and the old control tower, Nissen huts and wartime hangars can still be seen today, making the whole experience one steeped in naval aviation history and heritage!
