The Sea Fury is back after her period of winter maintenance at North Weald.
Work included a modification action to improve the Centre of Gravity (C of G) characteristics to allow a second crew member in the rear seat. This involved moving the battery tray from the tail section and moving it forward closer to the C of G. Aircraft was check weighed by the 71 (IR) Sqn weigh team following completion of the battery tray mod. Brake units have been overhauled and new brake pads fitted. Primary inspection has been completed, which included NDT work on the main undercarriage units.
The Sea Fury T20 piloted by Royal Navy pilot Lt Cdr Chris Gotke will be at the Navy Wings Supporters Day on Saturday 11th May 2019, this is a day exclusively for supporters to visit the aircraft and her first public display will be on Sunday 9th June 2019 at Cosford Air Show.
