As we begin another year at Navy Wings, we wanted to share some exciting news about our Seafire.
At the end of 2023, Navy Wings Seafire SX336 made the journey to Kennet Aviation at Old Warden as the engine was approaching the end of its lifespan and therefore was in need of overhaul or replacement. However, with funding allocated to other aircraft, progress on the Seafire was slow.
We’re delighted to announce that the necessary funding is now in place to return the aircraft to flight in 2026. We have purchased a completely re-furbished Griffon VI engine which will be fitted to the aircraft. The plan is that the current engine will be overhauled. We will keep you up to date on progress via our newsletters.
We, like you, can’t wait to see her take to the air once more!
